How to train your dog
You will have to train your dog to react to the whistle. The dog must learn to associate the sound of the whistle with a command, e.g. “Come!”. The best way to do this is by training sessions with rewards for the dog.
This is what you must do: Call out a command that the dog already knows, in a loud voice, for example “Heel!” and make a strong blast with the training whistle. When the dog comes over to you, give it a treat immediately. Repeat this several times, until eventually you can stop using the command, and just carry on using the whistle alone.
